Subject: Meeting to pray and organize the movement to establish San Angelo as a Sanctuary City for Life.
Importance: High

Hello CVBA family! Jeff asked me to pass along some information with each of you about an exciting opportunity for our community to come together in prayer and cooperation to see San Angelo become the next Sanctuary City for Life! We hope to see you there!

Pastor Ryan Buck of Immanuel Baptist Church and Mrs. Lou McLemore with the CV Biblical Counseling Center are leading the organization of this next meeting. The following is information shared by Pastor Ryan:

We will meet on Thursday, May 27th at 12pm at the Concho Valley Biblical Counseling Center @ 2601 Freeland Avenue. The purpose of our meeting will be to pray and to plan our efforts to cordially engage the San Angelo City Council and Mayor Gunter with a proposal to create a city ordinance that bans abortion within the city limits of San Angelo, TX. Anyone who is friendly to this endeavor is invited to attend. We are especially hopeful that Senior Pastors and other leaders will attend. Efforts will be made to invite City Council Members and Mayor Gunter. Lunch will be provided for those who attend. Please RSVP by emailing Lou McLemore @ lou.

If you have any questions please call Lou McLemore @ 325-812-2932 or Ryan Buck @ 325-805-0123

May God get the glory! Have a blessed weekend!

Soli Deo Gloria,

Prayer vigil tonight at the Gazebo at 7:00 pm

There will be a candle light vigil at the Eden square at the Gazebo tonight at 7:00 pm for our fallen law enforcement and everyone involved. Wear blue in support of law enforcement. Let everyone know.

The First Word for May 2 and other matters

  1. Please take special note of the National Day of Prayer Gathering at the Gazebo in Eden at 12:01 pm on Thursday, May 6. We will worship and prayer for about 28 minutes.
  2. We will be showing the movie “Breakthrough” on Sunday, May 16 @ 5:30 pm. Invite your friends to this inspirational movie.

Apology for those in attendance at last week’s Church Business Meeting:

Dear Church,

I have confessed and apologized to the individuals involved and to our Deacon Body and believe I should include one here. It is with a contrite heart and the

deepest of regrets that I send this open apology for my unnecessary comments and the tone with which I said them during this meeting. While there may be

multiple factors at play (I have had an infection with fever followed by sweats), there is no excuse for my response. I have had some good input from

Christian friends and I will be meeting with my professional counselor in the near future to continue to search out the “inner source” of my angst that resulted in such an unhealthy response. I appreciate your prayers almost as much I value your forgiveness.

Sincerely in Jesus’ Service,

Marty Akins
